Pagesmith is the culmination of 15 years of the web-development experience of James Smith, the chief technical architect between the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute's main website http://www.sanger.ac.uk/ and many of the microsites hosted by the institute.
James started web-development working on a number of small sites in the early 1990s (James' first pages were online as early as 1992) He then moved on to working for a large charity website - as a volunteer, developing code in both Perl and PHP.
James has for the past 10 years working at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute - initially on the Ensembl project http://www.ensembl.org/ and lately on a number of sites including http://www.sanger.ac.uk/.
